Reducing Our Carbon Footprint

Reducing Our Carbon Footprint

Reducing our carbon footprint is something we can all do to help make a difference. There are many things we can do in our everyday lives to help reduce our impact on the environment.

Solar panels

In 2016, we decided to invest in solar panels at site one so we could reduce our carbon footprint. We believe sustainable energy is highly important for the planet as a whole; not only does it help us save money on electricity costs but also helps keep harmful chemicals out of landfills where they may biodegrade slowly over time. This can cause further problems with pollution or plastics which take years if ever fully broken down into natural resources like oil.

Hand dryers, recycling, and litter picking

Our company has made efforts both big and small since then - from using hand dryers throughout buildings instead of paper towels, recycling all possible waste materials and litter picking in the surrounding area regularly to ensure that any rubbish is disposed correctly. Plastic takes years to biodegrade, and the small pieces of plastic can be extremely harmful to our native species such as birds and hedgehogs.

Here are some things you can do to help reduce your carbon footprint

Travel Smarter

You can help reduce your carbon footprint by traveling smarter. This means choosing modes of transportation that have less of an impact on the environment. Instead of flying, opt for taking the train or driving. You can also consider carpooling or taking public transportation when possible.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

We’ve all heard this phrase before, but it’s worth repeating. One of the best ways to reduce your carbon footprint is to reduce the amount of waste you produce. You can do this by recycling and reusing items when possible. You can also compost food scraps and other organic materials. Recycling and reducing the amount of waste you produce will help reduce your carbon footprint.

Save Energy at Home

You can also help reduce your carbon footprint by saving energy at home. This means turning off lights when you leave a room and unplugging electronics when they’re not in use. You can also save energy by using energy-efficient light bulbs and appliances. Taking steps to save energy at home will help reduce your carbon footprint and your monthly energy bills.

Our responsibility

We all have a responsibility to help reduce our impact on the environment. There are many things we can do in our everyday lives to help reduce our carbon footprint. Travelling smarter, reducing, reusing, and recycling, and saving energy at home are all great ways to start making a difference. What are you waiting for? Start reducing your carbon footprint today.
