Working in the Community

At Vickers we love to work in partnership with our local community, investing in the future is at the very heart of what we do. Last week we were thrilled to visit our local primary school, Pudsey Primrose Hill for the end of British Science Week. We arranged a day of activities, designed to inspire pupils in an interactive way. We talked a bit about the chemicals we manufacture, the variety of jobs in the chemical industry and showed how science connects with everyday life

The children then explored a variety of safe chemicals which the team created to use in different films, including the chocolate river from Willy Wonka! They loved getting stuck in and messy and finished the afternoon by dancing to the smoke machine. A great time was had by all.
