Mental Health Awareness Week 2025
Mental Health Awareness Week is an opportunity to reflect on the importance of wellbeing and the ways we can support one another. In 2025, the theme centres on community, and we’re proud to highlight the ways Vickers has made a positive impact in our area.
Making a difference
- Providing Work Experience: We’ve helped sixthform and BTEC college students gain valuable real-world experience through work experience weeks, building their confidence and skills for future careers.
- Installing a Community Public Access Defibrillator: Located at the front of our main building, this lifesaving device ensures everyone in the community has access to emergency support.
- Litter Picking: Our team has worked to improve local surroundings, playing a vital role in keeping our community clean.
- Supporting Local Hospitals: By donating toys and electrical equipment to our local children's ward, we hope to bring comfort and smiles to young patients facing difficult times.
- Foodbank Donations: Through our contributions to The Trussell Trust, we’ve helped support families in need, easing financial strain and promoting stability.
- Clothing Bank Contributions: Clothing donations provide dignity and warmth for those struggling. We’ve made it our mission to give back to those who need it most.
Ways to get involved
There are many ways to build a community and offer support to people who may need it. One of the most impactful steps is to start a conversation such as checking in on friends, family or colleagues.
Supporting your local community can also make a positive difference, whether it is through fundraising, volunteering or simply spreading awareness about mental health resources.
